What is OPFC?
OPFC is an men and boys airsoft event hosted by Eastside Baptist Church with the help of many others. This event is geared towards fathers and sons, and young men having some good clean fun while keeping Christ and Christian values the focus. Operation: Fall Conflict is organized to encourage team-work, camaraderie, quick thinking, and mental and physical toughness. Rules are enforced by volunteer team captains to ensure the safety and well-being of all the participants. Whether young or old, OPFC gets you off the couch and spurs your imagination. The heart of OPFC is to not only encourage physical and mental exercise and wellbeing but more importantly, give opportunity to challenge and promote spiritual health by giving the gospel, challenging the believer, and connecting men with churches.
What is airsoft?
Airsoft is a military simulation sport that utilizes airguns that shoot small plastic bb.s powered by a spring, battery, or compressed gas. People do get hit with the bb.s so some protective gear is required but due the size and small mass of airsoft bb.s getting hit stings a little, but the pain is only momentary. The goal of airsoft is to eliminate or complete the mission assigned by hitting, out-smarting, out-maneuvering the opposing team.
Why was airsoft chosen for Opfc over other mil-sim platforms?
(Paintball vs airsoft vs laser tag).
1. The considerably low cost of airsoft compared to paintball and laser guns enables a much larger field that is ever increasing.
2. The relatively small energy due to the low mass of airsoft bb.s (unlike paintball) is not able to do any significant damage to the
body.
3. The real-steel look, feel, and realism of airsoft equipment compared to paintball equipment dramatically boost the imagination
and the authenticity of combat.
4. The exercise and athleticism that airsoft encourages is superior to indoor laser wars.
5. The honesty that a non-marking weapon instills in the players is unmatched by either paintball or laser wars (only honest people can play and truly enjoy airsoft).
